urban Frosty...

on my way to dig my car out for work, i encountered this little guy at the end of my block:

Update: urban Frosty lived only one day. i walked out the next morning to find that someone had decapitated him, and peed on him....welcome to city living.

snow flakes that stay on my nose and eye lashes....

we're in the midst of our first real snow storm of the season--so pretty outside tonight!
had a fun snowball fight with some friends. white fluffy snow is still magical, especially at night. i love how quiet the city is...except for the laughter of us silly grown-ups, who were temporarily reverted back to childhood by the wintery spell.....(which shall be broken in the morning when i have to dig my car out from under all the white stuff.)

filled my annual football quota...

i'm not really a football fan. i'll watch it for social reasons. it's kind of like being a social drinker, except, well, watching football. since it was the Super Bowl today, i decided i'd do the social gathering that is required... there was food, beer and friends...and the occasional yelling at the TV, which in summary, made an enjoyable night.
i was rooting for "the red team" (as opposed to the yellow team, and yes, i referred to them by their team colors). i selected "my" team based solely on the fact that i was, by chance, wearing a red top....that was how much i was into who was playing in it. besides, i like cheering for the underdog, and Arizona was the underdog. it was an exciting game, too bad they didn't come through.

note to self for future reference: never gamble and bet on teams based on the colors of their uniforms.
