westside stories...

stood in line for an hour and a half to get community rush tickets to a Bernstein Festival concert with the Philadelphia Orchestra this weekend. it was so worth it just to see members of the orchestra performing something out of their usual repertoire, especially during the symphonic dances from West Side Stories. snapping fingers, screaming "rumble!" while playing....yeah, priceless! the audience, including me, actually laughed when they started snapping their fingers during the piece. awesome.

nuns at a basketball game...

i went to an impromptu Sixer's game last night with my friend Christina. We're not really die-hard fans, but C's friend had season tickets he couldn't use, and well, it's something different to do on a friday night. we made our own fun....screaming insults when appropriate, eating greasy food, & even got those long clapper things to help distract the players at the free-throw line.

What was just as entertaining, if not more, was a group of old nuns sitting in the next section. can you imagine the conversation? one of them even got the clapper thing we had....
