so a co-worker was telling me that she took her son to the mall to see santa last weekend. apparently, you no longer line your child up to see the jolly old fella. they give you a pager, and will buzz you when it's your turn.
what?! part of that whole mall santa culture is for the kids to learn to stand in line, and take their turn, and whine, cry, kick, and embarrass their parents! now the kids will not learn delayed gratification....oh wait, adults invented pagers....okay, so now the grown-ups won't learn delayed gratification! (i blame it all on the invention of the microwave.)
